What is CAI index

What is CAI index?

The CAI(Comprehensive air-quality index) is a way of describing ambient air quality based on health risk of air pollution.
The index aims to help the public easily understand air quality level and protect the health of people from air pollution.

· Understanding the CAI for particle pollution (also known as particulate matter, including PM2.5))

Category The density
of ultra fine particles
PM2.5(㎍/㎥)
Color Description Pictogram Health
A 0 ~ 15 Blue Good
A level that will not impact patients from diseases related to air pollution
B 16 ~ 35 Green Moderate
A level which may have a meager impact on patients
in case of chronic exposure
C 36 ~ 75 Yellow Unhealthy
A level that may have harmful impacts on patients and
members of sensitive groups(children, aged or weak people),
and also cause the general public unpleasant feelings
D 76 ~ 500 Red Very unhealthy
A level which may have a serious impact on patients and
members of sensitive groups in case of acute exposure

Sensing system

KPLAZER can catch ultra-fine particles perfectly and without secondary contamination from microorganisms in filtration system.
KPLAZER ultra-fine particle sensor is a laser-based sensor which detects and counts particles with the concentration range between 0~1,000ug/㎥.
As particles pass through the laser beam, the light source becomes obscured and is recorded on the photo or light detector.
The light is then analyzed and converted to an electrical signal providing particulate size and quantity to calculate concentrations in real-time.
KPLAZER ultra-fine particle sensor will provide information on the particle concentration for given particle detect range.
KPLAZER ultra-fine particle sensor connects to the CAI index and displays 4 colors(Blue,Green,Yellow,Red) on the control part while it is running.
